Do you work with a group of young people aged 16-19 who are finding life a little bit difficult?
(This could be due to any mild or severe issue, for example: mental ill health, a disability, learning difficulties, social anxieties,
behavioural disorder or a longterm illness).
If you do, then the youth volunteering team at Worcester Volunteer Centre can provide
your young people with 20hrs of free volunteering support (divided up in a way to suit you) through our Choices project.
We could…
· Help them to organise a fundraising activity/event for a charity of their choice
· Teach them how to make useful items from newspaper (bags, coasters, beads, envelopes, plant pots) which
they could sell or donate whilst raising awareness of the environmental importance of reusing ‘waste’
· Support them with an awareness raising campaign
· Support them to come up with their own project ideas (it just needs an end product/activity and benefit the community.
We can support two organisations in 2013 and a further two in 2014.
It will be on a first come first served basis so please get in touch asap if you’re interested!
In addition to this opportunity we also offer a regular supported volunteering opportunity to individual 16-19 year
olds on Fridays 10am-2pm when we go to the organic farm and nature trail at the Fold in Bransford (www.thefold.org.uk).
Transport, light refreshments, waterproofs, gloves, walking boots can all be provided, volunteers just need to wear old
clothes and bring a packed lunch…and suncream if necessary.
