Course details:
Aim:
This course (6 hours) is primarily aimed at coaches who are going to be working with blind and partially sighted players in competitive clubs. Although the content is very useful for community sports coaches, PE staff, students and young leaders.
Objectives:
To have some knowledge of the basic rules of the game
To have some technical and tactical skills of the game
How to adapt the equipment and introduce the game
An understanding of how to officiate
Procedure:
The course is both practical and theoretical in nature.
Entry requirements:
An understanding of the game of netball and please bring a whistle with you.
Assessment:
No official assessment although engagement in both the theoretical and practical aspects of the course is monitored by the tutor.
Duration:
6 hours.
Pre-requisites:
Previous playing experience is not required although it would of course we helpful.
